TL;DR: as of October 2, 2026, Valve has not announced the next CS2 Armory update. The last rotation came with the Season 5 update on July 9, 2026, which added the Arabesque and Spy Tech weapon collections plus two sticker collections, and removed Train 2025, Sport & Field, Sugarface 2 and Elemental Craft. Valve’s new Workshop call, Call II Arms-ory, asks artists for a Fairy Tales weapon collection and Cryptids and Pop Art stickers, so those are the most likely next additions. No release date has been given.
What the Armory Is, in 30 Seconds
The Armory launched on October 2, 2024. You buy an Armory Pass ($15.99), earn its 40 credits by playing on official servers, then spend those credits on items from a rotating catalogue: weapon collections, cases, charms, stickers and the occasional limited-edition skin. Commonly reported prices are 2 credits for a case, 4 for a collection skin, 3 for a charm and 1 for a sticker. Each redemption gives you a random item from what you picked, not a skin of your choice.
The catalogue is the part that changes. Valve adds new collections and retires old ones every few months, and that rotation is what people mean by “the next Armory update.”
What Is in the Armory Right Now
Since the July 9, 2026 update, these are the confirmed headline items:
- Arabesque Collection, ornate gold, lattice and calligraphy designs drawn from Arabian art and mythology.
- Spy Tech Collection, espionage-themed finishes with camo panels, gadget details and digital readouts.
- Fruits & Vegetables and Auto Racing sticker collections.
- Older items that were not on the July removal list, such as the Fever Case and the Overpass 2024 Collection, were still being listed as available by trackers in August 2026.
Both new weapon collections came out of Valve’s earlier community Workshop call, where creators were paid a flat fee per accepted design. Check the Armory tab in game for the live list, since Valve does not always mention small catalogue changes in patch notes.
Every Armory Rotation So Far
| Date | Added | Removed |
|---|---|---|
| Oct 2, 2024 | Armory launch: Gallery Case, Graphic Design, Overpass 2024 and Sport & Field collections, Character Craft and Elemental stickers, first charms | None |
| Mar 31, 2025 | Fever Case, Train 2025 Collection and other spring collections | None reported |
| Early Oct 2025 | Missing Link Community and Dr. Boom charms, 2025 Community and Sugarface 2 stickers | Gallery Case, Graphic Collection, Character Craft stickers |
| Jan 21, 2026 | Limited-edition AK-47 | Aphrodite (Harlequin and Achroma went to Weekly Care Packages) | None |
| Jul 9, 2026 | Arabesque, Spy Tech, Fruits & Vegetables, Auto Racing | Train 2025, Sport & Field, Sugarface 2, Elemental Craft |
The pattern: a catalogue change roughly every three to six months, with no fixed calendar and removals only every six to nine months.
When Is the Next Armory Update?
Nobody outside Valve knows, and anyone quoting an exact date is guessing. What we can do is read the signals Valve has given before past rotations.
Signal 1: a “leaving soon” post
Valve warns before it removes items. In September 2025 it flagged the Gallery Case, Graphic Collection and Character Craft stickers, and they left about three weeks later. On April 21, 2026 it flagged Train 2025, Sport & Field, Sugarface 2 and Elemental Craft, but those did not leave until July 9, about eleven weeks later. So a warning tells you a rotation is coming, not exactly when. As of today, no new “leaving soon” notice has been posted.
Signal 2: a Workshop call
The July 2026 collections trace back to a Workshop call whose submission deadline was March 13, 2026. They shipped about four months later. On July 16, 2026 Valve opened Call II Arms-ory, asking for one weapon collection themed on Fairy Tales and two sticker collections, Cryptids and Pop Art. Valve did not publish a deadline for this round, which is why a reliable release estimate is not possible yet. When a deadline appears, add a few months to it for a rough window.
Signal 3: the competitive calendar
The last two Armory changes, in January and July 2026, both shipped with a new Premier season rather than in a random mid-week patch. The September 22, 2026 Rush Hour update added a new mode and chicken eggs but no cases or collections. The PGL Major Singapore runs from November 25 to December 13, 2026, with its own Major Shop items, so do not assume an Armory refresh will arrive alongside it.
What Happens to Skins That Leave the Armory
Retired items do not disappear. Everything already redeemed stays in inventories and remains tradable on the Steam Market and third-party sites. What stops is new supply: once a collection is gone, nobody can redeem fresh copies with credits. That is why traders watch removal notices closely. Prices on retiring collections often firm up after supply ends, but that is a tendency, not a rule, and cheap low-tier skins from big collections can stay cheap for a long time.
Should You Spend Your Credits Now or Wait?
- Spend now if you want Arabesque, Spy Tech or anything older in the catalogue. Every item can be flagged for removal at the next rotation.
- Hold a few credits if you mostly want the newest content. Collections are usually at their scarcest, and priciest on the market, in the first weeks after release.
- Price check first. Redemptions are random, so compare the market price of the skin you actually want against the expected value of a random roll. Buying the exact skin outright is often cheaper than redeeming until it appears. Our CS2 rarity guide explains why the top tiers are so rare.
Want Skins Without Waiting on Valve?
The Armory runs on Valve’s schedule and your playtime. If you would rather chase specific skins today, CaseBattles lets you open cases built around particular skins and price ranges, or go head to head in case battles. Every result is provably fair and verifiable. New accounts can start with free cases. If you are deciding what to open, see our best CS2 cases to open in 2026 and ways to get free CS2 skins.
Frequently asked questions
When is the next CS2 Armory update?
Valve has not announced a date as of October 2, 2026. The last rotation was the Season 5 update on July 9, 2026. Watch for a “leaving soon” post and a submission deadline for Call II Arms-ory, which have preceded past rotations.
What was added to the CS2 Armory in July 2026?
The Arabesque and Spy Tech weapon collections and the Fruits & Vegetables and Auto Racing sticker collections. Train 2025, Sport & Field, Sugarface 2 and Elemental Craft were removed.
What is Call II Arms-ory?
A Workshop call Valve opened on July 16, 2026 asking artists for a Fairy Tales weapon collection and Cryptids and Pop Art sticker collections. Selected designs are the most likely candidates for a future Armory update.
How much does the CS2 Armory Pass cost?
The Armory Pass costs $15.99 and gives 40 credits, earned by playing on official servers. Cases are commonly listed at 2 credits and collection skins at 4.
Do skins removed from the Armory disappear?
No. Redeemed items stay in inventories and remain tradable. Only new redemptions stop, which ends fresh supply of that collection.
