How CS2 case battles work
CaseBattles.gg is built around case battles. In a CS2 case battle, every player pays the same entry, the total price of the cases, and opens the same cases at the same time, one round per case. When the last case lands, the highest total value takes every skin from every player. CSGO case battles work exactly the same way: CS2 kept every CSGO skin, so anything you win is a real skin you can withdraw to Steam.
- Pick a battle. Join an open battle in the battle lobby or create your own with the cases, format and mode you want.
- Fill the seats. Other players join, or you can fill empty seats with bots and start right away.
- Open round by round. Everyone opens the same case each round, live, with the running totals on screen.
- Winner takes the pot. The best total (or the winning team) gets every skin, straight to your balance. Keep it, battle again, push it in the upgrader, or withdraw.
Case battle formats and modes
Formats
- 1v1
- Two players, same cases, highest total takes the pot. The classic head-to-head case battle.
- 3-way, 4-way, 6-way, 8-way
- Free-for-all with up to 8 players. Bigger pots, one winner.
- 2v2
- Two teams of two. Teammates add their totals together and the winning team splits the pot.
- 2v2v2
- Three teams of two, same team rules.
- 3v3
- Two teams of three, same team rules.
Modes
- Normal
- The highest total value across every round wins.
- Terminal
- Only the last case counts. Everything before it is for the drama.
- Jackpot
- A weighted draw at the end: the bigger your total, the bigger your chance at the whole pot.
- Group
- Everyone plays together and the pot is split evenly, 2 to 8 players.
- Crazy
- A toggle for Normal, Terminal and Jackpot that flips the goal, so the lowest total wins.
A battle never changes a case's drop odds and carries no extra fee: the only edge is the 5% built into case prices. Want to know what you are opening first? Every case lists its exact odds, and the case odds page covers every rarity tier. Prefer to open alone? Browse CS2 case opening.
Provably fair case battles
Every battle round is drawn from Random.org with signed, verifiable seeds, and the server seed hash is shown before the battle starts, so the result cannot be changed after you join. To check a battle yourself:
- Open the provably fair panel on the battle page and copy the seeds and the hash.
- Paste them into the fairness checker, which recomputes every roll in front of you.
- If the drops match what you saw, the battle was fair. The full method is on provably fair explained.
Case battles FAQ
What is a case battle?
+
A case battle is a CS2 case opening race. Every player pays the same entry, the total price of the cases, and everyone opens the same cases round by round. The highest total value wins every skin opened in the battle.
Are CSGO case battles the same as CS2 case battles?
+
Yes. CS2 replaced CSGO in 2023 and kept the same skins, so CSGO case battles and CS2 case battles are the same game. Every skin you win is a real CS2 skin you can withdraw to your Steam account.
What case battle modes can I play?
+
Solo battles run 1v1 and 3, 4, 6 or 8-way. Team battles run 2v2, 2v2v2 and 3v3. Modes are Normal (highest total wins), Terminal (only the last case counts), Jackpot (a weighted draw), Group (the pot is split evenly) and a Crazy toggle where the lowest total wins.
Are case battles provably fair?
+
Yes. Battle results come from Random.org with signed, verifiable seeds, and the server seed hash is shown before the battle starts. Open the provably fair panel on any battle, or enter the seeds on the Fairness page, to recompute every roll yourself.
Do case battles cost extra?
+
No. A battle has no extra fee and never changes a case’s drop odds. The only edge is the 5% built into case prices, the same as opening the case on its own.
Is it free to play?
+
Yes. New accounts get 3 free cases: enter any referral code (no code? use FREE) and verify your email. Free daily cases unlock as you level up. No purchase is necessary to start playing.
What is the house edge?
+
One of the lowest house edges among CS2 case sites, published per game in the FAQ: cases, battles, Coinflip and Duels are 5%, Upgrader is 10% (about 7.75% after the 2.5% sell premium), Plinko is about 7% and Mines is 10%. Double pays fixed multipliers, so its edge depends on the color weights.
How do withdrawals work?
+
Withdraw winnings as CS2 or Rust skins delivered to your Steam account, or as crypto. You must deposit at least $10 (skins or crypto) before your first withdrawal. Free gems do not count toward this requirement.
